About CostInflation Price Indices

CostInflation publishes public, city-level price histories for everyday goods. The goal is to make grocery, pet, household, personal-care, and consumer health retail goods price movement easier to inspect, cite, and compare.

Current public cornerstone pages include Coffee Price Trends by City, Burger Cost by City, Cost of Dog Ownership Per Year, Cost of Cat Ownership Per Year, Menstrual Care Product Inflation, and Consumer Health Retail Goods Inflation.

Each public series page shows the latest city range, daily chart, map, component pages when available, and a short methodology note. Composite pages answer the broad question; leaf pages show the product-level prices that explain the movement.

We collect, normalize, and present data on a best-effort basis. Public pages should be read as observed retail price histories for tracked markets, not as national price claims, every-retailer audits, or estimates of services such as veterinary care, grooming, restaurant meals, or medical visits.
