The full Coffee Price Trends history did move, just less dramatically. The 12-market basket ranged from $122.97 in West San Antonio, Texas to $131.04 in East St. Louis, Illinois, an $8.07 difference.

That puts the useful question in a different place. Add-ins and chilled drinks created more separation than bags, cans, and pods.

Creamer and cold brew did more work than beans

The Coffee Index combines recurring grocery coffee formats. On June 15, creamer and chilled coffee products had the widest city ranges.

Coffee creamer had the widest city range, and iced coffee and cold brew came next. Whole bean coffee and coffee pods stayed much tighter.

That is why the main coffee line can look quiet while a shopper’s preferred format feels different. A household buying creamer or ready-to-drink coffee is exposed to a different city pattern than a household buying beans.

Watch creamer and chilled drinks first

The next Coffee Index update has a clear watchpoint: if the city gap widens, it is more likely to show up first in creamer or ready-to-drink products than in whole beans.

The latest city lines are on the Coffee Price Trends history. Readers who want the parts of the basket can also check ground coffee, instant coffee, and bottled and canned coffee drinks.
